Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons ... a rainy afternoon at the MET

Rei Kawakubo - Art of In-Between at the MET NYC

Last week one of my best friends visited from Mexico and we visited the much acclaimed exhibition: "Art of the In-Between" examining the designs of Japanese Designer Rei Kawakubo at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Rei is only the second designer after Yves Saint Laurent to be dedicated an exhibition while still alive. Her designs are very contemporary and daring which is why she is often referred to as a designer of designers.

To be honest, her style is not my style but that's the beauty of true Art - you don't have to like it to appreciate it. The workmanship and creativity are amazing and - what better way to spend a rainy afternoon in the City!

See it until September, 4th at the www.metmuseum.org in New York
