Alas de mariposa, bordados con cristales, atuendos con diamantes, plumas y cabello de caballo ... Criaturas sorprendentes, robots y chasis, cinturones con radiadores ... todo lo nombrado representa la estilo extravagante de Mugler ..

El fascinante universo de este diseñador y sus múltiples colaboraciones en el campo del entretenimiento, música y cine, construyeron una carrera inmemorable que comenzó hace casi 5 décadas.

Butterfly wings, embroidered with crystals, diamonds costume, feathers and horsehair ; Surprising creatures, robots and chassis, radiators belts ... all representative of the extravagance of Mugler ...

The fascinating universe of this designer and his multitude of collaborations in the fields of entertainment, music and cinema, started nearly 5 decades ago.

Desde septiembre del 2021 hasta abril del 2022, el "Museo de Artes Decorativas de Paris" expone el enorme trabajo que Thierry Mugler ha producido desde sus comienzos en los 70' hasta 2002 donde Mugler da vuelta su pagina en fashion.

Esta exhibición se presenta en dos pisos del Museo, yo tuve la suerte de visitarlo en febrero del 2022 ... un crudo invierno parisino no me detuvo y ni a la cantidad de personas haciendo fila en la calle, esperando entrar al museo, ticket en mano y disfrutar del talento de este artista sin fronteras, quien siempre sin miedo a jugar con texturas, colores, diferentes escenarios, ya sea en cine / videoclips / pasarelas , Mugler era un icono sin igual ... modelos , artistas , fotógrafos, todos siempre asombrados por este talentoso ser ..

From September 2021 to April 2022, "The Musée des Arts Décoratifs" ( Paris ), exhibits the enormous work that Thierry Mugler has produced since his beginnings in the 1970's until 2002 when Mugler turned the page of fashion.

The exhibition is displayed on two floors of the Museum. Me, well ... found myself with some luck to be in Paris in this time... a harsh Parisian winter was hitting in February, but that didn't stop me or the others waiting in line with their tickets in hand to enjoy and be amazed by this artist without limits, who always without fear liked to play with textures, colors, different scenarios ( movies / videclips / catwalks, etc ), Mugler was an icon without comparison... models, artists, photographs, everyone was always amazed by this talented being.

La exhibición se organiza en diferentes actos, cada uno te absorbe en una atmosfera diferente ... OPERA, ATUENDOS TEMATICOS, PROYECCIONES ANIMADAS, FOTOGRAFIA y MUSICA.

Lo primero que ves es una temática acuática, un excéntrico mundo de fantasía inspirado en fauna, donde abunda el exceso desde la superficie oceánica hasta lo mas profundo del mar. Seguido de esto se encuentra el tema Ciencia Ficción, El Reino Animal y el Reino Acuático, Super Heroínas, Diseños Industriales y Automóviles Futuristas, todo se convertía en una fuente de inspiración para el, cada acto en diferentes habitaciones ambientadas con sonido, luces, maniquís, y algunos televisores con videos musicales, etc.

The exhibition, is organized in several acts, each one of them absorbs you in a different atmosphere like OPERA, THEMATIC COSTUMES, ANIMATED PROJECTIONS, PHOTOGRAPHS and MUSIC .

The exhibition's opening is an aquatic theme, an excentric world of phantasy where excesses abound from the ocean's surface to the depths of the sea. Followed by ... Science Fiction, Animal and Aquatic World, Super Heroines, Industrial Design, Futuristic Automobiles ... all these became sources of inspiration for him, every act in different rooms set with sound, lights, mannequins, and some tv's with music videos, etc.

Estos grandes artistas dan una explicación concisa, del arte que se maneja en la moda, la infinita creatividad, y todo el trabajo que encierra una colección, una sesión de fotos, un videoclip ... y tanta gente involucrada. Todo es ARTE.

Ver esto me recordó a uno de mis exhibiciones favoritas, ALEXANDER McQUEEN en el MET ( Museo Metropolitano de Arte), en Nueva York en el año 2011, pero eso lo dejo para otro blog.

These immense artists give you an explanation about the art that is fashion, the infinite creativity and all the work involved in creating a collection, a photoshoot, a videclip ... and so many people involved. It's all ART.

Attending this exhibition reminded me of one of my favourites ever .... ALEXANDER McQUEEN at THE MET ( Metropolitan Museum of Art ), in New York back in 2011, but lets leave that for another blog post...
